British Navy in the dock - only three ships available. 21 not.

Even if Starmer was willing to take part in patrolling the seas off Cyprus, he hasn't got any ships to do it!!! They are nearly all in dock for long periods for repairs and servicing in Devonport, Portsmouth, Rosyth and Clyde.

The lawyers are busy working out if the sailors are male or female and whether hurty words can be used by the officers. The days of Rum, Buggery and The Lash are well and truly gone.

Well - maybe not the buggery which is a hobby of the Prime Minister assuming that's why he needs Ukrainian rent boys.

It's a good thing we don't tke part in attacking Iran alongside the brutal US/Israeli/Neocon/Epstein Satanists but what about defending the UK, maintaining Gibraltar and assisting with Cyprus, where Turkey and Greece are often quick to fall out unless someone assists. Peace-keeping missions are indeed valuable at such times as these.

Rescuing British people stranded in different parts of the world would not be a primary role of the Royal Navy, but their presence could be reassuring to people travelling home near hotspots.

Thousands of Brits remain stranded in the Middle East, after aviation giants Emirates, Etihad, Qatar Airways, British Airways, and more all scrapped all flights in and out of Dubai en masse on Saturday due to the escalating conflict in the Middle East.

More than 1,000 British nationals have arrived back in the UK on commercial flights from the Middle East, Sir Keir Starmer has said on Thursday, with an estimated 300,000 still believed to be stuck in affected regions across the Gulf as conflict between the US, Israel, and Iran enters its sixth day.

Regarding naval power - Iran has a different approach -

The New Atlas 6 hours ago Americans beating their chests over sinking a single Iranian warship returning from joint drills with India are missing the point.

Iran has warships. They are useful for specific tasks, valuable, and losing them costs Iran.

But Iran's strategy for defending itself against a US war of aggression did not include these ships.

It depends on 1000s of small boats with anti-ship missiles and other capabilities to create a naval version of its "mosaic" defense strategy.

Instead of consolidating Iran's naval capabilities into a handful of large expensive ships easy to track and sink, it has distributed these capabilities across many more, harder to find and target, easier to replace boats.

It remains to be seen how effective Iran's strategy is - but sinking Iranian warships at dock or in non-combat transit is symbolic, not symptomatic.

Miliband led Cabinet revolt to Trump’s Iran war Tony Diver

Political Editor - Telegraph

Forty-eight hours after Sir Keir Starmer’s dramatic decision to allow Donald Trump to use British bases to strike Iran, his Cabinet’s views on the issue are trickling out.

In a National Security Council meeting on Friday, Ed Miliband is understood to have led the charge against any British involvement, arguing that they would be illegal.

He was backed, according to reports, by Yvette Cooper and Rachel Reeves – two of the most senior ministers in the Cabinet – who relied on advice from Lord Hermer, the Attorney General.

Miliband, who led opposition to British strikes on Assad’s Syria in 2013, is reported to have made a “petulant, pacifist, legalistic” case against allowing Trump to use RAF bases in the region for pre-emptive strikes.
