I've decided.
I will be standing as Police and Crime Commissioner for West Mercia Policing Region in the May 2024 elections as the English Democrat candidate. I will be joining the list of candidates standing in the other areas.
Policing is of key importance to all of us. Someone has to take care of Police business and see that Police are properly trained and equipped to do their job.
I was asked to stand again, and this time my answer is yes.
It's time Policing was no longer about political correctness and woke agendas, cultural Marxism and the rest. Let's get back to catching criminals, solving crime and reducing crime, raising Police morale and the confidence of people to engage with the Police once more.
Last time I stood in an election was 2000, as a candidate in the Parliamentary elections for Shrewsbury & Atcham Constituency.
Before that I was Chairman of Ellesmere Rural Parish Council for six years in total, up to 1992, where I learned the basics of local government.
The Teds (The English Democrats) have it right as to their political approach. They have detailed knowledge of Policing in their membership, and long experience of the legal issues that affect crime and Policing.
Additionally, I obtained a First in Criminal law at Oxford University in my first year exams, a few years ago, and, if elected, can deliver an intelligent and activist influence on Police affairs in West Mercia, delivering improvements to peoples' lives. We all depend on Policing and Law and Order being maintained. These cannot be allowed to wither under pressure from malign political influences.
If you live in Shropshire, Herefordshire or Worcestershire, you can vote for me in the May elections 2024. Conservative support is down a massive 70%. It has to go to someone new with an entirely different approach.
