The English flag was originally the white dragon for those who don't know.

The dragon killed by St George (or St Michael) was Typhon whose body lies across North Africa, nothing to do with the English white dragon. He was one of The Titans. You can find his head in Morocco on Google Earth where his body lies amazingly uneroded.
