Stasi says Digital ID will made 'mandatory for the right to work'. A mandate does not mean Digital ID is compulsory.

A mandate means an agency will be appointed to persuade employers to apply the mandate. If they don't apply the madate, and the mandate is not accepted, it becomes void. If they do apply the mandate, only then does the mandate acquire the force of law.

Big corporations like the NHS will no doubt apply the mandate. Presumably independent businesses will not apply the mandate. They have the choice and must stand firm and ignore threats from Stasi and the media.
